Hyacinth Macaw Pair. Oil on canvas. 18x36
I don't know what it is about Hyacinth Macaws. I just love them. Maybe because they are just so blue. So blue, and so gigantic. They're the largest parrots. They're so stunning! Just look at them! Enchanting and adorable and magical. Don't they seem magical? Like they're too amazing to be real, and yet they are.
I don't have that much to say about this one. I like the colors. I feel like the birds turned out very well. The beaks were challenging! I put a lot of work into them and they gave me headaches! I think the squiggly plant stuff and the vine are weird and sort of get in the way? I'd probably take them out if I were to do it over. But hey, live and learn, right? Looking at those birds makes me happy, regardless.
